Hi Julia here!I am an avid doggie fan and love all things Bluey!I am excited to be working on this project and for everybody to see all the cool bluey things we have going on!
EXPERIENCEThough this will be the first zine project I have taken on, I have many years experience in working with online fandom communities!I have run a fandom tumblr for over a decade as well as assisting management in fandom/nerd discord servers.I will also be organisation mod in the upcoming My Hero Babysitters, a BNHA De-Aging Quirk Accident Zine as well as some more future projects.

What is a zine?
A zine (pronounced like a shortened form of “magazine”) is a collection of artwork and fanfiction, brought together in one collected work. It is a fan project where people who enjoy the piece of media the zine is focused on can create work based on the series!What are the zine specifications?
A SFW, for-profit physical and digital A5 zine with physical and digital merchandise.Are AUs allowed?
Yes, AUs as well as canon-compliant material are welcome.Are spoilers allowed?
Spoilers will be allowed.How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors will be compensated with, at minimum, a PDF copy of the zine and associated digital merch. Depending on sales, our goal is to give every contributor a full bundle free of charge, including shipping costs. You can help with that by ordering our zine!Who is allowed to apply?
This is a SFW project but you must be 18 years or older to participate in this zine.Will I require a Discord to participate?
Discord is our key method of communication. If you do not have a Discord account and wish to participate, you will be expected to create one.Do I need previous zine experience to apply?
Absolutely not! Everyone starts somewhere, and we welcome newcomers to apply.Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to apply for more than one position, provided you’re confident you can handle the increased workload.Will this zine be physical?

Page ArtistPage Artists are required to complete 1 full page piece of art for this zine.We will be offering the opportunity to create more pages/spreads for interested participants.Spot ArtistSpot Artists will be expected to create 2-3 smaller spot illustrations in collaboration with one of our Writing Contributors.Spot Artists may also have the opportunity to create spot illustrations for more than one fic, or to create a full page illustration.Comic ArtistComic Artists will be expected to make one comic in full colour.The comic will be 2-6 pages. The length is up to the creator’s discretion.Merch ArtistsDigital MerchDigital Merch Artists will be expected to create 2-3 pieces of digital merch, including Discord Emote Packs, Wallpapers for phone and computer, Icons, digital colouring pages and printable merch, etc.*If the zine requires physical merch, guidelines will be updated to reflect this.Art Application GuidelinesAs an Art Applicant for Head Over Heelers, your work will be judged on your knowledge of anatomy, perspective, composition, colour theory, and personal style.Please choose examples you feel best reflect the kind of artwork you would like to make for our zine!Remember, you must be over 18 to apply to ‘Head Over Heelers’.Portfolio requirement for Page Artists/Spot Artists.- 3 art pieces showcasing the best of your artistic abilities.
- All pieces must be SFW. NSFW artworks will not be considered.
- At least 1 art piece must have a complete background, full shading, and colouring.
- Bluey art is not necessary but highly encouraged.Portfolio requirement for Comic Artists.- Comic artists will be expected to include one or more pages of previous comics in their application, but full page illustrations will also be considered.
- All pieces must be SFW. NSFW artworks will not be considered.

As a Writer Applicant for Head Over Heelers, your work will be judged on your grammar, flow, ability to tell a story within a given word limit, characterisation, and general writing style.Please choose examples you feel best reflect the kind of fic you would like to make for our zine!- Writers will be expected to create 1-2 pieces of fiction, articles, meta analysis, or poetry for this zine. Fic and meta will have a maximum of 2,000 words, articles 1,500 words, and poetry 250 words.
- Writers may have the opportunity to collaborate with another writer or artist.
-Pieces created MUST be centred around Bluey characters.Writer Application GuidelinesRemember, you must be over 18 to apply to ‘Head Over Heelers’.Fanfic Writers-Writer Applicants must provide three samples of their writing. For each sample, the word count will depend on what you’re planning on making. Fics and meta analysis must be no longer than 3k, article style writing no longer than 2k, and poetry no longer than 300 words. You may submit all of one type (for example, fanfiction) or a mix of several, to your preference.
- At least one of your samples featuring children or animals is preferred. Specific works featuring Bluey characters are not required but highly encouraged.
- All samples must be SFW. NSFW pieces will not be considered.
- Shipping is not the focus of this zine, but fics that include shipping will still be considered in applications.
- If any of your samples are SFW but still contain potentially triggering or mature topics, please make sure that they contain visible tags.Portfolio links are welcome.
